This is a great place to learn and enjoy dancing in Monterey Bay Area!
The atmosphere is so friendly! Group classes are fun: we met a lot of local dance students of all ages and all dance levels.
We learned several dances with our excellent instructor, Jorge. Our private sessions were always adjusted to our personal needs. Thank you, Jorge, for your patience and positive attitude! The rest of the team are great instructors too.

As a former dancer in my younger days I had never studied ballroom styles of dance. Taking private lessons at Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Monterey has given me a new appreciation for the different styles of social dancing. Jorge is a great instructor; teaching the basics and building on as my abilities as a dance partner improve. He knows how to point out minor movements that I need to improve and it works! All of the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the group lessons and dance parties help me feel more confident as a social dancer. Not only is it fun, but it is also a great workout and stress reliever. Just do it!

About 30 Years Ago, Josh Told Me He Didn’t Dance. He Said Only On Very Special Occasions… I Was Devastated.
I Love To Dance!!
A Couple Months Later While At A Wedding, Unchained Melody Came On And He Asked If I’d Like To Dance. He Stepped Out Of His Comfort Zone For Me! I Was Over The Moon!!
He Danced Once With My Mom And With Our Bella Lenzini Any Time She Asked.
On Our Star Trek Cruises, He Apparently Felt More Confident And We’d Dance More And More With Each Cruise…
I’d Drive By The Studio And In August, I Decided To See What Arthur Murray Had To Offer For Just Me…
They Asked If I Had A Partner. I Said, “Yes?” I Called Josh And He Cautiously Agreed To Meet Me For A Lesson. He Tried To Give The Instructors Reasons Why He Couldn’t Dance. They Listened And Assured Him We Would Be Starting As A Blank Slate.
This Dance Was Choreographed By Jorge For Our Extravaganza.

We are so happy that we found this studio!! They very much care about their students success! They create a fantastic environment to learn in. Seriously! From the moment you first walk in, the instructors are TOP NOTCH! We are doing the wedding dance program (several classes) and they are phenomenal! Our AMAZING instructor, April, is very caring and patient with us. She is an excellent communicator and is very warm and encouraging. She easily breaks down the concepts of dance routines, moves, styles, and choreography into a beginner friendly format that makes everything feel natural. She has worked with us to choreograph a beautiful dance routine for our wedding song. This studio is affordable and has FANTASTIC instructors such as our instructor April! You cannot go wrong coming here, you will be taken care of to the highest degree and will leave feeling accomplished and motivated to dance. We sure do!! Again, check this place out whether you are a beginner or a professional dancer. What are you waiting for? LET'S DANCE!

My fiancée and I decided to take a dance class to prepare for our first dance at our wedding, and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. As complete beginners with no dance background—especially myself, with zero experience—our teacher was incredibly patient and encouraging. They broke down each step and movement in a way that made everything approachable and, more importantly, fun. Their positive and supportive attitude gave us the confidence we needed to perform in front of an audience. The transformation from feeling awkward and clumsy to moving together gracefully was beyond what we expected. We’re thrilled to have a routine that feels personal and polished, and I would highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to make their special day even more memorable!

I love my lessons I have so much fun !! I recommend everyone try it at least once, you would love it !! My teacher Aj is fantastic ! He’s so cool. All the other teachers are great as well they dance so passionately and clearly love their job 🥰

We came to Arthur Murray Dance Studio for our wedding first dance. When we first walked in the studio, everyone was so welcoming and accommodating. April has been really patient with me and my fiance, who has little to no dance experience. I also like that they offer group classes in the evenings so you can learn other kinds of dance aside from what you enrolled for. Also, at first I was anxious that it would cost a lot but I was surprised at how affordable it was. I would say it’s the best decision we made in our wedding planning.

This is my Happy Place. Great instructors, friendly vibe, and plenty of opportunities to perform if you want to. Friday night dance parties are a good way to meet like-minded people. Good, clean fun and good exercise, too.
