If you're interested in Jiu-Jitsu, this is the spot! The professor is a world champion and legend that has also competed in MMA. The coaches have an extensive amount of experience in wrestling and Jiu-Jitsu. The class is well structured for beginners to upper belts. The kids' class is also amazing. The team here is like family and very welcoming and friendly to the newcomers . They gym is very clean! I have been training here a year and have gained a vast amount of Jiu-Jitsu knowledge along with great cardio! They also offer private lessons. There are so many benefits to Jiu-Jitsu. I can definitely say this place has greatly improved my mental toughness & resilience, discipline/consistency, physical fitness, problem solving/adapting, comradery, and mindset . They also offer a few amenities like a cold plunge and a pretty sweet rower.

I seriously cannot recommend this place enough! From the moment you step inside you can feel the good energy that radiates from Professor Aj and Coach Anthony. They instantly make everyone who walk through those doors feel welcomed and safe. It’s very apparent that this gym is run by two men with high character who have a deep consideration and care for their students and the sport. The gym is spotless and spacious with everything one could need for class. I enrolled my 4 year old daughter whose been attending the children's Jiu-Jitsu classes and I have seen such positive change and remarkable growth in all areas of her life directly correlated to the class and teachers. She has gained such great confidence in herself and in her physical abilities as well as developed self discipline all while having so much fun learning. Coach Anthony truly motivates and encourages all the children to do their best and has an inherent ability to connect with them in such a remarkable way that I feel proud that my child is getting this type of education from such exceptional teachers like himself who clearly have a deep passion to teach and improve the lives of others with their vast knowledge and experience of this wonderful sport. I genuinely can’t say enough praise about Gracie Barra Atascadero and about Anthony and Aj. If you want your children or even yourself to learn highly valuable skills surrounded and taught by inspirational, talented, and sincere educators then this is the place to go to. They are outstanding, highly recommend to all!

Recently I started to take my cousin to this jujitsu place and all I can say is how amazing the place is! The team includes real Brazilian jujitsu champions so you’re learning from the best people. They know how to entertain kids to keep them interested and you can also learn a lot by looking and as a woman I’m planning to attend self defense classes too 🙂
Definitely recommending this studio if you want your kid to learn self defense and discipline!

My 8 year old son has been attending the kids class taught by Professor Raphael for over two months now. From the start he was quickly able to follow along with his peers thanks to the professionalism, positive attitude, and attentiveness of Raphael and the coaches. He is an excellent instructor focused on helping every child feel comfortable and able. Classes are organized and practical. My son has had great results in a short amount of time and loves it! I would highly recommend this to everyone.

My first time training at GB Atascadero was wonderful! I was paired up with a brown belt who could safely guide me through the techniques of the day. He was incredibly kind, patient, and helpful. The instructors were fantastic and encouraging. Really low-pressure environment and incredibly clean! Can't wait to train here again.

I recently did a few drop-in classes while in town visiting and I can't say enough about this place. The entire gym, from the students to instructors, was welcoming. The instruction was great, and they really have a great community building here. I've already recommended it to local friends who live in the area, and I myself will be back whenever I visit!
