Certainly one of the largest Y's in the south bay. Great workout options and multiple learning programs are offered.
We missed badminton though, and would have been better to see at least one of the pools indoors for year round use

Now they started limiting towels for guest. And argument is "not enough towels for everybody". So, if you got more members, you got got more payments, right? Then why you cannot just buy more towels if you obviously grow up?

The most deteriorated and mismanaged set of dumbbells in all the YMCAs I’ve ever been in; as a customer paying almost $100 a month (after the recent price increase), these dumbbells are NOT acceptable. They don’t fit in the shelf they’re on so they’re left around wherever. The Palo Alto Y has a much better set that is on a rack where they actually fit and is labeled clearly so patrons can pick them up and put them back in predictable locations (unlike this YMCA).

The stretching mats in the room next to the dumbbells are deteriorated, in desperate need of replacing. There is ONE long mat, no others, and it is also deteriorated and flaking apart. The rest of the mats are so small and are so permanently bent they’re unstable to use and you risk falling if you use them.

The foot strap in the bike machine is permanently broken and never fixed despite being so easy to replace.

There are handled for resistance bands that have been cut off from the resistance bands that are in the free weight room. These handles are actually not equipment, since they are not attached to anything and are actually probably belonging in the trash.

The maintenance truly seems like an afterthought here. These people seem to care a lot about hosting group classes and private training sessions, but the maintenance of the equipment being in good working condition seems poorly managed from my experience.

I really would like to provide some feedback to this YMCA location. My experience there weren't great.
1. they have a smaller pool for younger kids, but they do not open it for public , mostly only for classes; they claims that they do not have enough lifeguard to watch the small pool;
2. we signed up for a swimming class for my kid, and we did not like it after trying first the first session , we tried to drop out and get a credit for the remaining sessions, and it was really hard and frustrating to that credit
3. we went to the gym and told the front desk that we will need to pause the membership, the young associate told me that he got it taken care of (sent an email or create a ticket), but actually he either did not do it or failed to do so. and I still got charged for 2 more months until I found out.
4. When I called in to discuss that, the lady on the other hand of the phone sounds annoyed, and what she sounded to me definitely made me feel that she did not believe in me.

Overall, I feel the staffs in this YMCA aren't the most friendly people. I am pretty disappointed how this location was managed.

Definitely not great place for swim lessons. Swim lanes are too short and 2 classes are in the same swim lane on opposite sides of the lane. Too many kids in group classes for such small lanes.

Great facility but I wish it were open longer on the weekends. So glad it’s open til 9pm during the week now.

Edit: so glad they extended their hours 🙂 way better on weekends!
