This gym changed the course of my life. During knee rehab, I found this place on social media as inspiration. When I was cleared, I went to see if Olympic Lifting was for me. Coach Wes really changed my mindset into believing I was an athlete who could do amazing things. My teammates provide a valuable support system on and off the platform. Over a year later, it is still my favorite part of the day.

Facility: LARGE place with space for open gym members, Olympic weightlifting lanes and equipment, powerlifting equipment, and a CrossFit area/classes. The space is cleaned frequently and has an in house person for body work who keeps the athletes healthy and primed for success. (I have to admit, it’s me. I’m the body work gal. So called me biased if you want but hey I’m honest too!) This gym also has personal door codes for 24 hour access.

Coaching: I can only speak on the weightlifting coach Wes but let me say he is fantastic. I’ve had a few coaches over my 4 year lifting career but none who have the passion that Wes has for being a coach. He takes the time to find the right cue for each athlete (sometimes trying several different cues for the same person/thing just so it sinks in in the way THEY need to hear and absorb it).

Environment: we can be a loud, rowdy and sometimes sarcastic group. We can also be a very channeled and “in the zone” group too. Each day is different based on the people present and the current vibe. We play good music, sling weights, and cheer or scream for our fellow lifters. The coolest thing about this gym is that when someone is hitting a PR attempt the ENTIRE gym stops to support (I’m talking crossfitters, lifters, and open gym members alike. The support and energy is unreal & definitely unmatched).

If you’d like to see what this place is about check it out for yourself. I did a drop in 2 years ago and never left. I’ve also climbed to top 3 in the nation for oly lifting with the help of Wes as my coach. I think that says a lot.

I was over-charged on my membership dues and despite e-mailing the owner multiple times and even going to see him in person he has not refunded me. I would highly advise not joining this gym as there is a complete lack of professionalism and organization in the administration. Do not be surprised if you are scammed and make sure you check your bank statements as originally the owner did not cancel my membership when I told him I wanted to, and it took me two months later to realize that I was still being billed.

West Coast is hands down the best gym I’ve been a part of. The coaches are so knowledgeable and are truly there to help you learn, grow, and become stronger. The community of the coaches and athletes there is unmatched. Coming here is the best part of my day!

East County Barbell is awesome. I highly recommend it. I’ve been a member since February 2018 and I love everything about it. The classes keep me coming back. The community is amazing in all aspects. It’s a fun and healthy environment to workout ‍♀️ in. The coaches are great, very motivated and extremely helpful. The gym itself is clean and organized. Also, it has a kids area for those with children. East County Barbell is my gym and I absolutely love it here.

This facility is now called West Coast Elite and is owned by Wes Cravy.
where do i even start. This gym/space has been named many things over the last few years. to name a few: Zastc, East County Barbell, and now WCE. I've been coming since 9/2018 off and on and the community is unparalleled. I am so happy and comfortable here even though the outside looks intimidating. there's so much to offer here and all of them are amazing: personal and sports training, (MLB stars have trained here as of late). Olympic weightlifting, group classes that mirror CrossFit but none of the silly stuff that will hurt you, power lifting, and open gym. Take your pick.
I personally do the group classes (0530, 0700, 0900, 4PM, 6PM). Coach Mel programs with a purpose and supports us with heavy barbell workouts to get us strong and thoughtful conditioning that will challenge us but not kill us.
I have tried other "CrossFit" gyms and the community elsewhere feels too closed off and uninviting. kiddos are welcome to join in on group classes and the coaches are friendly and knowledgeable. I am proud to be a WCE member. I know I'm welcomed and i get in an awesome workout. click the website to claim a free week. its so fun, come join us!

Awesome gym, super friendly people and staff. Was terrified of trying something new out of the ordinary crunch or Chuze gym...best decision ever. It’s like having your own personal trainer every time bc they make sure you know what you are doing and don’t leave you hanging.
