Both my children attend VIP. My daughter takes guitar and my son piano. My son has shown a huge interest and now plays guitar and drums. They both have an amazing instructor, Devin. He is very passionate about music and a kind soul. Maria has several opportunities to participate in performances. Both kids did the annual end of year performance and had so much fun. Last year my daughter also participated on the Earth Day celebration at Balboa Park.

We have been taking lessons from VIP for almost a year and love the instructors! My daughter loves Genny for violin, my other daughter really enjoyed her guitar lessons with Calvin, and my husband learned a lot in piano from Doug! Maria is very easy to work with and very kind and helpful! So grateful to have found this music school and definitely recommend them!

Maria has been my daughter’s violin teacher for 7 years and my sons ukulele teacher for about 2 years. She has done such a good job teaching them theory and technical and boosting confidence in performing. They love her. My son also is in the drum ensemble and loves it! Matthew is a fantastic drum teacher and so good with the kids. I’ve been involved with this school for so long and love it so much. I highly recommend any of the teachers as I can see their talent in teaching and in performing themselves.

So far, I have had an amazing experience here. My son takes private violin lessons, and his teacher is so sweet and amazing. He is enjoying it and learning alot. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

My son has been attending this school for a few years now.He's worked on his skills on the piano, drums, and soon the guitar. You can tell that the instructors LOVE music, that it's a huge part of their lives and that they enjoy sharing that with their students! My son loves to learn and play with the instructors & other students and we get to enjoy the performances they have throughout the year. Would definitely recommend if you're a musician who wants to take your skills to the next level or have never played an instrument & want to start.

I highly recommend VIP School of Music. Maria the owner is super nice and has gathered a great group of teachers together. You can feel the passion and love these instructors have for teaching music. My daughter is currently learning to play the drums. As a teenager some days she comes to her lesson in a less than great mood. Matt handles it with genuine care and encourages her to keep going and drum on. She always leaves her lessons refreshed and recharged. I am so glad to have found a positive outlet for her artistic passion.

VIP School of Music is a wonderful place for music! Me and my 5 year old daughter experienced a wonderful 6 week mommy and me Piano lessons with Mr Doug. We learned the basics of reading music, got familiar with each key and their note. A few hand warm ups, introduced some music language into our home. He set us up with some simple duet songs we can work on together. It was a great time! 10 out of 10 recommended ✨ so grateful for the gift you shared with our home.
