I stayed here in October or so of last year when my brother was graduating. I am glad I did because it beautiful! There are wild turkeys and deer everywhere. A very walkable base with lots of sidewalks. It is very far from the San Francisco airport so if you Lyft you might want to pick closer airport.

Son graduated CS "A" school here. Was given the opportunity to tour the upper and lower galley. Kitchens are extremely well maintained and organized. My sister is an executive chef and was impressed. The students and everyone we encountered were very polite, informative, and helpful. It was a pleasant visit.

I'm a civilian who recently spent a weekend at the Training Center with my sister and her husband who live in the on-base housing. What a beautiful and idyllic setting for living and working. They took me to the Galley for dinner on Saturday night and it was fantastic. I understand the Coast Guard trains its galley chefs at this facility, so the food is top notch at a steal of a price. I had the prime rib and mashed potatoes. The salad bar had a delightful broccoli quinoa salad that was just the greatest pairing of textures and bright flavors. Ice cream for dessert. Couldn't find the Galley on Yelp to review it, so I'm here. We rode bikes around the base and played with the kids on the many playgrounds and watched the new goslings at the lake; climbed to the top of Texas Hill. Wonderful spot; enjoyed my stay. Thank you to our men and women of the Coast Guard for all you do and for helping me feel at home for a much-needed weekend away.

Command is a joke, my daughter was the victim of a serious issue and they did nothing to help her! They have absolutely no concept of how to deal with COVID, and the poor civilians that work there are talked down to. The OS students in my daughters class were very disrespectful and immature. Very interesting who they let in the military nowadays! We are hoping for someone like capt flynn to come back into command and restore the order!

Training center Petaluma is an outstanding Coast guard facility training young sailors to be the finest in their rate. I enjoyed attending tracen Petaluma and 1985 has a SNYN and went on to retire from the Coast Guard in 2003. What an exciting Yeoman. Like to take this opportunity to thank everyone that I met in the Coast Guard.

The Coast Guard trains their people let's just put it that way. Unfortunately they have other ideas about hiring qualified personnel. I encountered a couple of extremely rude people so I had to change my five stars to 3.
