I’ve been consistently studying Argentine Tango with Brandon at Sonata Room for 5 years now. I can say that his teaching style is truly excellent, distilling experiences from decades of dancing and countless lessons from esteemed Argentinian performer/instructors into easily understandable explanations. There are great dancers and then there are great dance instructors. Teaching what one knows is an entirely different skillset from just performing, a craft which Brandon has honed for his classes. His focus on building from a clean, solid foundation for all his students has him explaining all the nuances and details of footwork and body positions for each step, often using creative analogies to capture the feelings of each step when we do it right. He doesn’t just teach steps, he teaches us the structure behind the steps so we can hopefully realize new steps easier because we already recognize their components. Brandon is a wonderful teacher to come to as a beginner and grow into greater and greater sophistication as your own Tango journey blossoms.

I gave it 5 stars. I was there tonight and I was very impressed with the place and the owners are very nice and have patiences. I felt at home. I will be taking lessons more then once I been to other dance studios and I didn't rate them at all.
My boyfriend will be going next time. I was explaining to him about lessons and he said U look like u had a good time. I sure did.

We absolutely love taking lessons from Laura and Brandon. They are kind, patient, and extremely proficient at their craft(s). There is no need to be nervous about joining their groups (we take beginner salsa on Wednesdays) as they simplify the steps and always keep it fresh. They also take the time to assist you personally with making minor adjustments to make you better, all while having a VERY good time! I encourage anyone and everyone to come check their classes out and meet new, friendly people!

Great place to learn to dance. Tango classes are some of the best around and I have tried lots of other teachers. Brandon does an amazing job teaching tango.Beginner classes are Saturday morning at 11 am.

Love this studio. For me it is so conveniently located with plenty of free parking which is a huge plus for me.

I started going here by a classmate's recommendation who went to every single Argentine Tango class in San Gabriel/Burbank are and rated Brandon Kwae's class the highest. I am happy to report I was not disappointed. I have gone to many classes around this area too and have come to the same conclusion.

The studio is nice and roomy with mirrors so you can easily correct yourself. Brandon's teaching style is a pitch perfect mixture of technique and steps so even though this is an incredibly difficult dance, you always feel like you're stepping forward, pun intended. He is very friendly, easy to approach and open to questions. The classes, which I have been attending for close to two years is full of people with no attitudes (even though there are several ballroom champions - taught by Brandon - in the classes) and each class is filled with laughter.

If you have fallen in love with this dance as I have and want to learn it, the Sonata Room is a great place to learn and get privates as well. Plus there are Milongas each month so you can show off your new moves, enjoy performances from world reknown Argentine Tango masters while enjoying homemade vegan friendly Hors d'oeuvres.

If I could give a ten-star review, I would. Brandon and Laura are excellent dance teachers in several different styles of dance, and they also throw very fun dance parties several evenings each month. Whether you are a beginner or a pro, this is an excellent dance studio for you. Bob Brennan

I take the argentine tango classes here. They have a good size floor that would be perfect for praticas or milongas. Wish there is a pratica after the Saturday class tho

I want to give a shout out to this wonderful studio. Everyone was so welcoming and friendly here, and the instructors are great! I felt like I had a dance home away from home!
