We went to see the Agitators by Mat Smart a few weeks back. What a great performance for a small theater! This is my second time seeing the show and these actors were absolutely fabulous. thank you for keeping theater alive. 🙂

I am completely biased.

Initially I directed some online one act plays for them.

Was asked back to direct a full length (their first one with live audiences after, well you know).

I now produce the monthly community cabaret there and have another full length play to direct this July (2024).

This is an amazing black box theatre, with myriad of configurations available, and incredibly supportive staff, great parking, and truly inventive and thoughtful shows.

Theater? At best it is a make shift stage on the floor with chairs on painted black bleachers. If you are sitting by the central aisle, you will be inconvenienced letting the latecomers in.

Acoustics are poor, in our show all audio came from one speaker over behind my right shoulder.

Parking is limited - remember to carpool.

I hope I'm not required to attend too many of my subscribed shows here.

There was plenty of parking. I bought the show tickets ahead of time and it was quick and easy to check-in with the attendant once I got there using my name only. I’ve seen two shows and they were both terrific! Concessions were happily served. There was candy and cocktails as well as sodas, wine and water. The chairs were fairly comfortable. The only complaint I have is that neither one of the shows started on time. The Chinese Lady started 16 minutes late and Love Letters started 8 minutes late. While the theater has good intentions of delaying the start time until most everyone that reserved tickets in advance have arrived, it makes scheduling things around a show harder. For example, I had to leave one early and before the ending because I had to pick up my son. However, if the show had started on time, then I would have been able to see it in its entirety. That said, I look forward to visiting the theater again. It truly is a treasure.

The Pear Theater is easy to find. Intimate setting, up close. The Chinese Lady was poignant and touching. It was another reminder of more details left out of school history. Afong Moy character started full of hope, and transformed as America changed their view of Chinese (immigration).
