I highly recommend this Sylvan location! I enrolled both of my kids in the summer session, and Josh made the experience incredibly fun. My daughter practiced math over the summer, and now that she's back in school, she finds her math class a breeze.

My son 9, who's finishing up 3rd grade has been going to Sylvan all year to supplement his academic success in a public elementary school. As two working parents we've been constrained with supporting him with homework, as well as topics like writing, reading, and math consistently. Sylvan gives us an opportunity to give him consistent academic support; they do a good job of proactively setting up time with us to check in and show his progress report as well as seek to understand areas / topics where we'd like for them to support him in. I think the Sylvan environment gives him the real time practice/feedback that he needs to build confidence in certain topics - and with patience where my husband and I do not have with him. They recently opened the new facility in El Segundo which makes it much more convenient for us to send him to and we're looking forward to sending him over the summer to so as to limit as much as the 'summer slide' as possible.

Our son made me tear up the other day when he said, "Mom, thank you for signing me up at Sylvan of El Segundo. The teachers are so nice and it's already helping me write better at school."
That was the first time he ever thanked me for any extra-curricular activity we had signed up for.
I am truly amazed at how significant the impacts of the few lessons he had had so far, and for him to realize the difference himself, is just nothing shy of pure solid gold.
Sylvan's writing sessions are so well organized and well structured, that they make it easier for younger children to understand, follow and remember. Which means that they can take what they've learned, and more importantly, apply it to their schoolwork, helping them improve their writing skills. With so many writing assignments and a ton of future essays and reports to look forward to, we are so happy and grateful to the staff at Sylvan Learning of El Segundo for teaching our son.

My daughter use to go to kumon for 4.5 years and even though she learned something it was grueling to get her to do the kumon work everyday. Once covid hit and homeschooling began it was even worse. I had to up the game and found Sylvan learning center. It was easy to get in and I have no complaints about the staff and the environment.
I like that they have a variety of subjects and actually help students with homework as well as completing the Sylvan curriculum. My daughter dreded anything about kumon and now I don't see that when she goes to Sylvan.
In a short period of time she has improved on her penmanship and is confident in her writing. Her teacher has commented that she saw a huge improvement in her work with such a short period of time.
I would recommend Sylvan learning center to anyone who wants to have thier child get some extra help or stay on top of thier game .

Thank you Sylvan! Several months ago we started tutoring at Sylvan, and I only have positive feedback to give about our experience. Our daughter is already involved in a lot of activities yet we wanted to supplement her learning with additional tutoring without having additional learning assignments — Sylvan Learning fits the bill.

1. Our daughter looks SUPER FORWARD to going each and every week. The positive reward system they use is excellent.
2. The atmosphere is very positive - the teachers are kind and friendly.
3. There is NO outside homework - very big plus for us not wanting to add an additional burden of more homework.
4. The administrative staff are super helpful, and meet with us monthly to go over our daughter’s progress and learning goals in great detail.
5. This program is evidence based, and they use solid metrics to define progress and set new and measurable leaning goals.

In sum, if you are looking for convenient tutoring to help fill in learning gaps or supplement your child’s academic achievement, I would highly recommend Sylvan Learning!!
