We recently visited Sunstone Winery for their Christmas Market Event and had such a great time. The atmosphere is exceptionally beautiful. The wine tasting was excellent. The service fun and personable. And the market had so many awesome offerings. What a fun afternoon!

As a wedding photographer, I’m always on the lookout for venues that offer something unique, and Sunstone certainly delivers. The moment you step onto the property, you’re greeted by the stunning, well-manicured grounds that are both intimate and expansive, creating an idyllic setting for a romantic celebration.

The architecture and landscape of Sunstone are what dreams are made of—there’s a magical quality to every corner of the estate. From vine-covered stone walls to sun-drenched courtyards, there’s an abundance of nooks and crannies perfect for capturing timeless, elegant images. The venue is so versatile that it truly allows the couple’s personality to shine through, whether you’re aiming for something classic and sophisticated or more relaxed and organic.

We stopped by Sunstone Winery on a girls’ trip, and it was the perfect spot to relax! The property is beautiful, with a large outdoor seating area—some shaded, some in the sun—and fun games like cornhole and tic-tac-toe. It’s also pet-friendly, with several people enjoying the day with their dogs. The charcuterie box was deceptively good—while it looked informal, it had a great selection of cheeses that paired perfectly with the wine. The staff was accommodating and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We arrived around 11 a.m., and by the time we left, it was bustling with couples and friends enjoying tastings. The ambiance was wonderful, and we loved soaking up the sun. Highly recommend!

Before we headed back to California, we decided to stop and check out another winery near Solvang and stopped by Sunstone Winery. It was a very humid day and certainly glad we were able to get a spot in the shade. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our questions and what we were looking to try. Depending on if you have a small or large group, there are several different spots you can relax at and enjoy some delicious wines. We were here too long, but definitely an enjoyable spot to take in the views, enjoy good wine and be among interesting people.

Omg, Sunstone was absolutely stunning! The staff was super sweet from the moment we pulled up and throughout our tasting. We did the wine tasting and felt there was a great variety. We were able to bring our own charcuterie, which was nice. The environment was very calm and peaceful—almost felt like we were in Tuscany. We had a reservation, and based on the number of people, I’d recommend making one as well since it’s a popular place. They have live music on Saturday evenings. It’s a very romantic setting with great wine tastings.

Nice location but thats about it. Ordered the wine flight but only had the first two tastings because the waiter completely disappeared. Walked out after waiting 30 min. Was not at all impressed by the wines either. Kalyra next door had amazing, attentive service and the wines were delicious

My son, his dog, and I visited Solvang the day after Thanksgiving and decided to drop by this winery in the afternoon before they close. It was our first time here and it was well rated. It was busy and they had a table for us. The ambiance was very nice and it was dog friendly. Our server was very friendly and helpful. The winery had a Black Friday special on select wines. Our server gave us free tastings and I bought several bottles.

Wonderful wine tasting experience! Loved all the wine we tried, if you buy 3 bottles, they waive the tasting fee. They even offered an extra glass of rose that’s not on the tasting menu. You can also purchase a charcuterie & cheese box from any of the wine counter ($30, not on their menu) and there’s a food truck towards the back serving burgers etc.. Wish they open more of their estate for people to walk around than just a courtyard with seats. At least when we went, we were not able to really see the French style building/land/decor.
