First of all, the staff at the front desk are very nice, and I cannot express enough how great of an experience I’ve had with the instructors. Unfortunately, the membership fees go up and up, plus a “yearly service fee” and yet nothing gets cleaned or fixed or replaced. And they cancel classes if not enough people attend, which would make sense if you paid an entry fee per class, but since your access to classes is based upon your monthly rate, whether I attend a class or not should not change how much money the business gets. Instead they end up cutting the pay/ hours of the instructors. Now there are no more 5 am classes, again, due to what seems to be much more focus on the other locations. A little advice, if you are able to find someone willing to teach at 5 am, maybe recognize that is a rare trait and treat them accordingly, don’t nickel and dime them, and force them to accept a job with the competition to make a living. So nice to leave town for a month, not be able to pause my/my wife’s membership, and come back to no more of the 5 am classes which were the reason I joined. If you are going to close the Petaluma location, like it seems, get it over with, if not, commit to it and fix it. The other Gyms in town are eating your lunch. If it wasn’t for Shell and Heather, I would have been gone already. But what do I know, I’m not a gym owner.

The equipment is new and really nice, but the customer service is really bad. I was charged an enrollment fee after I had cancelled my membership. When I called to get a refund, I only got excuses, saying that I will get my refund soon. It has been over a month, and they keep telling me that the manager will call me back and resolve the issue. Worst customer service. I am still waiting for my refund.

I have been a member of Sonoma Fit Petaluma for a while now, and my experience has been far from exceptional. While this gym has a few positive aspects, they are heavily overshadowed by many issues that have left me quite disappointed.

Firstly, I will give credit where it's due - most front desk staff is friendly and welcoming. They do their best to create a pleasant atmosphere when you enter the gym, which is a small consolation considering the numerous drawbacks.

I use the gym for equipment and do not participate in classes, so my review is based solely on that aspect. The equipment and facility itself are incredibly average. Some of the machines desperately need replacement, and I often have to clean up weights and equipment after others before I can use them, which is both frustrating and time-consuming.

The pricing is one of the most significant issues I have with Sonoma Fit Petaluma. I am paying a whopping $110 monthly, and it feels like I'm being robbed. This gym tries to convey an upscale Equinox vibe by making everything inside black, but it's all just a facade. The quality of the equipment and facility does not justify the high cost.

To add insult to injury, they frequently change their membership agreements and pricing with zero heads-up to the members. It's frustrating to have your fees altered without any notice or transparency.

Furthermore, the amenities at this gym could be better. Their sweat towels seem years old and have a waxy fabric softener buildup. Additionally, the wifi services could be more reliable, and to make matters worse, there is minimal cell service in the building, making it challenging to stay connected.

Comparing Sonoma Fit Petaluma to other fitness options in the area, I have found that the 24-hour fitness facility is much better and cleaner and offers more amenities for a significantly lower monthly cost. It's clear that Sonoma Fit is not providing value for the exorbitant fees they charge.

In conclusion, while some front desk staff are friendly, the overall experience at Sonoma Fit Petaluma could be more satisfactory. The gym is overpriced, the equipment and facility are subpar, and the frequent changes to membership agreements and pricing are frustrating. I recommend exploring other fitness options that offer better value for your money.

They have cancelled all of the 5am and 6am hour classes. These are the most crowded classes at the gym. Way less people in midday classes and evening classes. They don’t care to have classes for the people that work for a living.

Editing this review as I cannot respond to the owner’s incorrect response. The fitness director of the gym told me that they are not going to replace the 5am or even make 6am classes. So therefore my review is very valid. This gym is going to only cater their classes schedule to retired people and stay at home mom’s and dad’s who have the ability to workout in the middle of a work day.

The gym is empty and the machines are new.
I just wish there was a hip thrust machine.
Overall the gym is 5 stars.
The staff Polo is amazing, very friendly and always very helpful.

This is a brand new facility with all new state-of-the-art equipment and facilities. Everyone is very nice and full of smiles. Super convenient location. You can sign up for a group class or just work out on your own. There is so much variety in the classes and there is something for everyone here! Maddy is an excellent Personal Trainer and Nicole is one of the best yoga instructors I have ever had. Give it a shot, you deserve it!

The gym itself is very nice. I love training there.
Now be ready to have your money stolen:
in the last 8 months:
- membership rules changed and noone was made aware to make sure people keep paying more than they should. A lot of people took gold membership to have 24h access. When they put every membership to have 24h they told nobody to make sure people keep paying for gold.
- if you want to pay with your credit or debit card you will be chared 5 extra dollar leaving you no choice but to have your account info on some server.

Sad to have to leave this rating but lack of response has left me with no choice. Great gym, friendly front staff, but awful management. Was signed up on a promotional rate when the gym first opened and was assured my rate would remain the same for the duration of my membership. Well, that couldn’t have been a bigger lie. Rate jumped from 49.95 to 89.95 in the span of one month. Asked to speak with management about it and was never responded too. It’s Sad, myself, my wife and my lifting buddy all cancelled our memberships due to lack of communication. Easily resolved issues but they don’t seem to care.
