This is the third year my 2 children have attended Shasta Union Elementary. They are a part of the home school program where they attend 3 days, Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and are home Thursday and Friday. This school is fully Montessori yet FREE - very rare! I love the goal to help students become self motivated learners using hands-on materials and freedom to move around the room. My children are thriving in this program and I love the home school option. The setting is in the country surrounded by forest. There is a garden students help with. Recent grants will fund a greenhouse, a wall ball court, and a nature trail through the woods behind the school. Land has been cleared for a future outdoor classroom as well. There is also a preschool available but for a fee. Definitely worth taking a look at if you are searching for a school!

I am now 51 years old but on a whim I decided to look or the school where I attended 1rst grade as a very young child and the overwhelming flood o validation that I once really was a child just made me break out with a deluge of jelly bean size tears! such a beautiful place in a pure time in my lie I was a child and I remember it so many miles back on this old road, this long and lonely road of life
