I was referred to Sharon for English Tutoring by a close friend who used to work with Sharon in the law firm before. Sharon started helping my daughter with her English since she was a 4th grader. We have been working with Sharon for four years. Before working with Sharon, my child’s English score is 2 (1 – 4 grading system). This grade is below the class average and school average. My child has a difficulty in English reading comprehension. After working with Sharon for just a few months, my child’s English score jumped to 4, the highest score she can get. Recently she took the ISEE test, and she achieved 922 (99 percentile rank) in the Reading Comprehension section.
Early this year, Sharon helped my child with her essay for the private school application. My child started her application late, less than one month before the due date. With Sharon’s help and guidance, my child was able to complete all her application materials on time. Sharon even revised my child’s essay during her vacation. Besides helping my child with her writing, Sharon is also a very good mentor who gave my child advice on how to pick the schools which fits her interest. The whole application process went very smoothly.
In summary, Sharon is a very knowledgeable and responsible English tutor. My daughter has learned a lot from Sharon during the past few years. I've been one of Sharon's students for more than a year now and she's helped improve my reading comprehension and my writing a lot. Discussions with her are insightful and push me both to think about aspects of whatever book we're currently reading that I wouldn't have previously considered, and force me to be able to better articulate my opinions on the book. Her commentary on my writing really helped me identify the parts of my writing I was doing well and that I could improve, in a way that my teachers in school weren't able to. She's also went out of her to adjust her questions to my reading level.
