Great customer service and best deals around. While shopping for a new sewing machine I called the store with a list of questions (I'm out of state). They patiently answered all of my questions and informed me of all the available deals. Placing my order over the phone was easy and they shipped it pretty quickly for traveling cross country. I had an item never ship from the outside company they source the "extra" product from and they worked to make it right. Very polite. I would absolutely do business with this company again despite living in a different state. Even better, they've been around a long time. And supporting a small business is so important.

After reading all the positive reviews, I decided this was the place to upgrade to a better machine. I tried to get an appointment but was ultimately told to just come in. I did, and was helped by a staff member who described himself as a repair person rather than someone with sewing experience. He was able to comment on various machines with reference to his experience repairing them, but not necessarily in terms of what I'd be using the machine for (sewing garments, in my case). He was perfectly nice, but I felt the transaction was rushed. I ended up with a Babylock, and it's fine, but it feels less solid and substantial than I would like (lots of wobbly plastic parts) - in hindsight, I probably should have considered one of the industrial models or something very solid and simple rather than something that offers dozens of stitches I will never use. I think my point is that, at this level (beyond basic/starter machines), it would have been nice to have this be more of an "appointment" transaction with someone who has sewing experience and could really go through things in a relaxed way.

We have used this business to repair our commercial machines for roughly 45 years.
Initially it was just Marty & he made house calls. In our case business calls. He was great but now retired.
Brother Dan is just as good for us but the house calls stopped. Our commercial machines are heavy. We'd usually have all tuned at the same time.
We've learned how to solve most problems so avoid physically carrying a machine.
I had to carry the machine there. Dan now has two sons helping him.
I am happy & comfortable in recommending him. I just wish he'd add house calls for an extra fee.

This shop is amazing!!! They have a large variety of sewing machines at different price points, knowledgeable staff, all the accessories and thread you could think of. They aren't trying to oversell you for what you need, you can buy refurbished machines. They offer classes and lab times for beginners. You can finance for a nicer machine instead of paying it all up front. You can try out the machines and see how they function easily. I was also told that they do trade ups if you buy a more basic machine now and want something fancier later.

Just old school really pro shop. You go here and you know you'll be taken care of human to human within your means. I wish there were more places like this around. Trustworthy dealer

I have been sewing for about a decade. I have a ton of vintage and antique sewing machines that I have been able to repair myself. I'm pretty handy like that. Recently, I had the opportunity to buy a Bernina Artista. It worked well until I tried to do a simple zig-zag stitch and was just getting one single row of straight stitching. Computerized Berninas are not something I feel comfortable trying to repair myself. I decided to bring it in, having never been to this place. While there, the young man at the counter filled me in on what I already knew about the temperamental, outdated Artista. He recommended a used Virtuosa they had for sale. It was very fairly priced. I knew I needed a daily machine that I could just use with no problems or fussiness. I went back and bought it because after trying a Bernina, you really don't want to use any other brand. The stitch quality really is the best. It's not just hype. I just have no plans on dropping thousands for on of the new Berninas. I have used my Bernina Virtuosa every single day, since I bought it, 3 months ago. I am so glad I went in. It has given me zero problems.
They also have a ton of QUALITY thread. I learned early on that cheap thread (from Joann) is not worth the spool they wrap it on. The sewing machine shop has Metler and Aurofil and I don't have to wait for an online order to come in or try to color match online.
The prices for sewing machine service are very fair. I will continue to rehab and repair old machines myself, because I love doing so but for all Bernina-related service and accessories, I highly recommend this place.

This little shop is amazing! I have been considering a new sewing machine since mine is from the 80’s. Its impossible to get a sense of the machines available out there by only looking on the internet. So, I popped over to see if I could test out some and boy, am I glad I did!

They have a whole showroom of the latest and greatest machines that range from low-mid price range all the way up to the top of the line models of sewing, embroidery and overlock machines as well as a small selection of pre-owned options. And you can test them all!

The folks who work there are very personable and know their stuff! I was helped by a nice woman who I did not get the name of and a man named Cale (sorry if the spelling is not correct). All I had to do was say that I am looking for a machine with certain features and a price point and I was set up with a few to play with right away. I was able to ask questions freely about them and get a feel for them so I could decide which one is for me. There was absolutely no pressure to purchase - just a desire to answer questions and help you figure out what machine is right for you.

Im still deciding what model to go for but I will for sure be back to purchase it here when I do! Prices are fair and a purchase of a machine even comes with a little intro class which is really neat.

I’ll be back! 🙂

I bought a industrial juke machine from these guys. I cannot say how amazing a experience it was! I'm so happy I made the drive from Reno. My machine was put together and ready for pick up on super short notice. When I arrived to pick it up, the owner took tons of time showing me the machine and teaching me the basics of using it and also care and up keep. If you are in market for a new machine, these guys are super pro and very helpful and friendly! I cannot recommend them more!

Waiting to buy a new machine for mate or self? Do it already, buy local, get a personalized advice and support. Soooo glad I did not buy online, not lured by lower price. Lucky I called, got same online price, PLUS home delivery with setup of that Juki miyabi (looked complicated), also got after purchase support. I sound like an ad writer, all is sincere. So happy to have a gem of support for my machine here in Walnut Creek.

Regarding repairs...
It is expensive yes. Labor is expensive. Listen to expert advise. If you're machine is inexpensive, you'll be advised that cost of repair is more or close than new one. Almost same as deciding to buy new or used car (ask for available used machines from their trade offs) . Take Dan's honest advice or leave it. My Janome ran better after service than out of the box. Good help is worthwhile.
