I highly recommend this little shop. Amazing experience all around! Selene went above and beyond in helping me find what I was looking for. I received a warm welcome from Fritz and Happy as well, which made me feel immediately at home.

I’m fairly new to the area and was out looking for a salon that accepts walk ins and could give me a quick cut. I noticed the shop and decided to stop in and look for some Christmas gifts.
When I mentioned looking for a haircut Selene hopped on her laptop and reserved an opening for me at a salon down the street! The whole experience really made my day. I’ve never tried fly fishing but I am looking forward to trying it soon and returning to the shop for more supplies when I do!

I am so incredibly grateful that Selene opened a fly shop in Gardiner. Living in Maine, fly fishing has been something I've wanted to pursue but never knew how to start. Without any experience at all fly fishing, my 6yo son and I walked into Selene's shop. From the moment we stepped in, Selene and Eric embraced our status as novices. They have gone above and beyond to make us feel welcome, get us started in the sport and offer advice, tips and tricks. The shop is incredibly well provisioned, offering many rods, flies, line, tying supplies, books, cases, etc. I love just walking and spending time. If you happen to catch Eric when he's there, prepare for an amazing lesson (if you so choose to accept) in entomology -- an incredibly interesting and useful knowledge base for the serious fly fisherman. We have since purchased a kid's rod, some line, flies, boxes and books from Selene. I can't wait to put together my dream rod(s) from her selection of Maine Made and USA made rods and reels. I also highly recommend checking out their classes. I've been to two introductory casting lessons on Saturday mornings and I can't wait to try some of their more advanced lessons in casting, tying, entomology, etc. Highly recommend stopping in -- novice or expert alike.

A great Fly Shop is not just a source for equipment, gear, or flies. A great Fly Shop offers advice and knowledge beyond what is on its shelves. At Selene’s you get great gear and locally tied flies (for the local waters) but what you walk out of the store with in addition, is imparted wisdom and knowledge. You will leave this shop smarter than when you walked in.

Nice little shop close to home. Has about anything you need for flies and tying materials, if she doesn't have it she will get it for you. Also has a good selection of rods, reels and lines.

Selene is a world class tyer of flies, flies for all kinds of fish. Her custom flies are simply amazing, way too nice to dunk in the river. She would laugh to think you might not use her flies, but she'd understand. Selene has a great sense of history and wonderful talent. It's great that she has a shop where she can interact with customers from beginners to experts.

Had a great day at the shop for a Fly Tying class with Kevin McKay. Nice place, nice atmosphere and great people. Look forward to doing it again. So nice to have this so close to home!!!! 1.5 miles.

Starting out in fly fishing they have classes from bugs to how to fly fish. Want to learn to tie flies, they have classes on that. They have experience in fly fishing and have what you need to get out and start fishing. Great products, great staff and very experienced in the sport.
