I love Sea Cliff Beach! You can walk forever on the beach. There is great rock hounding when the rock piles are there mostly in the winter. I rockhound everyday and have found some amazing things from sea glass , very high quality serpentine, Jasper's, crystal clams, and much much more. It is a state park so remember to follow the rock hounding rules of California State Parks. This beach is never overcrowded. Even in the summer there are many people there The beach is large enough for everyone to have plenty of space. Highly underutilized in my opinion. The little museum is also very much worth visiting. They are open Wednesday through the weekend.

Fantastic beach. Even in late January it felt like summer with temps feeling like they were in the 70s. There’s a ton of beach to walk along and bring your dogs as well! The old SS Palo Alto shipwreck is still there but unfortunately the pier was brought down by a storm recently.

At Seacliff State Beach, I sought peace in the waning light of the sun. The vast sands and ocean stretched before me, and just offshore, a sunken vessel stood as a silent sentinel, adding depth to the horizon.

Yet, change had come—the once-standing pier, claimed by a storm, was no more. A loss, but such is the way of the Force. The facilities, too, were lacking, devoid of essential provisions. An inconvenience, yet not insurmountable.

Still, balance remained. Pavilions welcomed gatherings, and the sunset, radiant and unyielding, proved that even in loss, beauty endures. The visit, despite its trials, was well worth the journey.

Beach was awesome ,get there before 10-11 am for parking. The showers/toilet only worked at one of the two buildings.. the showers would be better if the pressure was more and if the push button didn't shut off as soon as u let go. Other than that, don't forget sunscreen..my daughter actually found a fossilized scallop rock.

The water here rarely has visibility over 6ft and it’s typically very murky. This area is also well known for having dozens of juvenile Great Whites in shallow water!

Very beautiful Beach

A short video to share with you all.

The Cement Ship in Sea Cliff State Beach

One of the first state beaches from the original port. A historical cement ship used to be an amusement center but now still a spectacular spot along the beach. A steep hike from the beach to the parking lot. Fees required. Good for all ages.

Beautiful but simple beach. Perfect for picnics, BBQ’s, and relaxing. Bathroom facilities are adequate. Food options are 1-2 miles away.
