Thank you Michael for your great customer service in replacing my acrylic insert for my Horn sewing cabinet. I'm very happy with being able to move the machine closer to me. It's much more comfortable now!

This man named Mike knows nothing about industrial Sewing machines. He might be fine with the Home machines, but as far as industrial machines, please don’t waste your time or money on him.

Santa Maria Sewing Center is owned by the same people as the Sewing Cafe in Pismo. I’ll be sharing my experience with Bernina corporate as well as they are currently a licensed Bernina dealer. This store is extremely negligent- both Sam and Michael are incompetent at using and caring for machines. I brought my machine in for a repair- a Bernina I have had for over 10 years that’s survived being carry on luggage when I moved out of state, and several moves in the same case. The machine and case have survived all of these fine. Santa Maria Sewing had my machine for 2 days, closed early on the day I was supposed to pick it up without notice and when I finally did pick up my machine discovered they had placed machine in the case incorrectly and damaged my case as the spool pins were digging into the bottom when you picked it up. I asked for my case to be replaced but was informed the owner was not in and would call me later. Michael did not return my call, and had an employee call me instead to tell me that I had damaged my own case and they wouldn’t be replacing the case or any other remedy. They then hung up on me. If the OWNER does not know how to safely store an expensive machine, and shows no accountability when a mistake has been made how could anyone possibly trust them to do any work or repairs on the machine. I will drive to Santa Barbara for future repair needs.

This is my response to the owners message:

Michael -- Would prefer first of all to state the facts:

#1 - I did make my first payment on the Ovation Babylock on 11/26/2016. (To know that Michael you would have had to look back to the invoice) So then why do you say I received the Babylock Teal Serger Trolley FREE? Do you think I can't remember, or didn't keep the receipt, on such an expensive purchase. As you can see Michael & POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS, I definitely paid for the Babylock Teal Serger Trolley.

#2 - Where on the Invoice does it say 90 days? How do I know that? And during those 2 years did I ever get called every month, telling me anything? NO
Maybe your store was desperate for sales at that time.

#3 - All I can say is those 56 customers have not put their Ovation Babylock in that Trolley and zipped it closed with the thread stand attached. As shown by the attached pictures even at lowest possible setting the thread stand is taller than the Trolley.

#4 - Concerning the Thread Stand; I wouldn't say it's an improvement if you have to make dents in the metal to attach it.

#4.5 - Well that is what I'm talking about! What you think is utmost accommodating your customers, is NOT!

YOU'VE CALLED ME A LIAR, WHEN PROOF SHOWS I'M NOT THE ONE LYING!

YOU'VE MADE EXCUSES FOR YOURSELF.

BUYERS BEWARE:
WILL Santa Maria Sewing Superstore TREAT YOU LIKE THEY TREATED ME, IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE?

#4.75 - The only remaining issue that would make me come into your store is for you to pay me the $378.50 that I had to pay in addition to purchasing a very expensive machine.
Reading your comments let's me know that's not going to happen. So NO thanks, I will purchase my parts from an online source or another Babylock dealer.
BUYERS BEWARE
Thanks for Listening

ORGINAL REVIEW

In 2016 I put a Babylock Ovation on layaway, along with a Serger Trolley.
Finally after about a year-and-a-half I paid it off, and took my new toy home.
Eventually I put my Serger in the Trolley and it broke the thread holder because it is not tall enough, although you can see on receipt it is called a Babylock Ovation Teal Serger Trolley.
I'm irritated, as would most people be.
I had to buy another thread holder, $128.48 and another Serger Trolley $250.10, so I am out of the additional $378.50, that's a lot of money, and I have a big Trolley that I can't use and have no room to store. Mr Hudachek knew right away the problem, this 1st Trolley was not meant for the Ovation Serger.

Why did no one catch this the 1 1/2 years I was paying on it?

Recently when I came in to get the thread holder, which by-the-way, was not the correct one, so now I have to buy another one.

I won't be coming in your store in the future for anything, and will not recommend Santa Maria Sewing Superstore to anyone...How could I?

If I could give a zero I would have. I originally took my machine in for a repair in July, was not ready until 12/16/2020. I was helped by Barbara the problem with the machine sewing backwards when turned on was clearly written on the work order.
When I was called to pick up the machine 7/20/20 I paid $180 for the servicing, how ever the machine was still sewing backwards. so I came immediately back with the machine. I was not offered to test the machine while I was there to insure the machine was properly repaired.
Long story short, I called about a month later and nothing further had been repaired on my machine. When I finally got an estimate I was told that 2 parts about $15 each were needed. When that did not correct the problem I was told I needed a circuit or mother board that would be about $50. When I came to pick up I was being charged $310 for all the repairs when I already paid $180.00. So I had to leave the machine there. I was not told I would be another labor charge. The machine did not cost much more then $500, so why would I have agreed to pay a total of $500 in repairs. Basically I am being charged $180 twice for service and I have my receipt in hand for the first charge. Was my machine even serviced in July? Also I was told several times my parts were on back order and that is why it was taking so long, however after an investigation, a more likely explanation for delay in getting the parts needed is because Santa Maria Sewing superstore likely has outstanding invoices that needed to be paid before Babylock would send them anything.
Thank you, Michelle

I just bought a Singer Elite CE677 two days ago. I sewed a couple of baby blankets and then the machine machine just stopped like there was a jam.
IT is not a thread jam. I checked all the thread and bobbins.
I also cleaned bobbin area. The monitor had a code that read EL. Everything is plugged in and there is no visual signs as to why it would stop. It is like the motor froze. I am not happy at all about the service at your store. First of all the lady who was helping us pick out the machine was rolling her eyes at me when I asked her questions and had a really bad attitude. She would not be working with the public, because of her I really would not come back to your store if I did not have this problem with the machine. I came to your store thinking I would get great service and friendly people. I am very disappointed in the machine and the service, I called at 5pm Friday evening to talk to someone about this problem. I got no sympathy from the lady who sold us the machine she just said " WE ARE CLOSED" I Told her the problem and she said "YOU WILL JUST HAVE TO COME IN ON MONDAY" no sorry or anything, I am not happy about the machine breaking, but the service is horrible.

I am a sewing novice and my sewing machine is a humble one. I took my sewing machine in because I couldn’t figure out what was wrong with it and I thought maybe it needed to be serviced. The staff took a look at my machine to assess what the problem was. Turned out to be a very easy fix and I was on my way! Because of their honesty and great customer service they have my business for life. Thank you!
