Love the Zip Program! Library ordered a book by my daughter’s request. It was mailed directly to our home, she read it, returned it and it is now part of SMPL collection.

Love this place only feb,6 ,25 walk in @ 9am I turned in 3 books. im being specific for a reason. lady with the white hair looks at me real judgmental, and when im put my bicycle seat down on the counter( because people like to steal in s.m)she looks to the side to who she was talking to before. It's obvious then tells me I don't have to pay my debt now or ever. Strange because I never saw this lady, but she's acting like she goes through this a lot, never saw her before. What I mean is that people walking in drugged out and broke. now, I know I don't look like she does, but not everyone is a bum. Lady, you need to ease up a little and don't judge a book by its cover. No pun intended. It's the last time I go in there. Neither of us loses

Staff is rude and racist. We’re a military family that just relocated here and the hispanic lady at the counter told my teenage daughter she cannot get a library card without proof of address. We showed her government ID and a box with my daughter’s address on it, but she told us she needs a proof of address to get a card. I imagine all of the people in that library that looked like the clerk, had no problem getting a card. This is par for course in SM so far…

I stopped by to join a Zoom meeting while on vacation in the area. I was warmly greeted on both floors and assisted with a study room reservation. The room was immediately available. It was clean and roomy. The internet signal was very strong and my connection was excellent. I LOVE libraries! Santa Maria offers an excellent service to residents and guests alike.

I want to be honest with the community of Santa Maria. The library is a really great hub for gathering information for any project like any other library I'm sure in the United States the thing is that the monitoring of screens by the staff and the return of interference on the low speaker system that the world has right now is so much of entertainment for the staff and especially the supervisors in charge as secretaries for the county. I believe my information is not the safest because of the screen monitoring that is done by staff and passive virtues by my own accord are contested and that's what makes this library unfortunate. If there is any help to challenge these spies in court please add me to the case.

Very clean library. Many computers are available for use. The children's area has a beautiful tree for the kids to read under, there's puppets and coloring pages. There's also flyers with information about community events and classes. We have also signed up for their free toddler classes which are weekly. In these classes they read to the kids and also give them an opportunity to play around in a safe environment.

The library is clean and the folks working here are kind, but as far as book selection goes this library has less going on than some libraries at much smaller towns. Honestly, the library fails at its main job which is having a decent selection of reading material. That huge building and such a diminutive selection. It's disappointing.
