For better or worse, this is probably the most laid-back trap range I've been to. Not a lot of supervision, no scorekeeper, no one counting how many rounds you've done (honor system I guess?) Price per round of trap is a bit on the high end, but on-site ammo prices are reasonable. No skeet or 5-stand but that's ok. Thanks for a fun birthday!

Don’t live by the gun range guns are going off all night long, even tho their hours say they close at 8 they’re really open till 12 am. They’re just hiding & shooting. Maybe Work with what your hours shows or take the guns else where at night especially in a ranch area no respect. In Paso robles those ranchers got so much respect living out there out here no respect at all.

Zero stars wasn’t an option or I would put zero. Apparently they had a remodel done which I wasn’t able to notice the only thing I noticed that got remodeled was their policies. You HAVE to buy ammo from them which is expensive and absolutely garbage. Would not cycle in a standard Glock or a zevtech Glock. I kept having to hit my slide into battery so my trigger would reset. DO NOT GO. I won’t ever be returning to this place

Title: Awesome local spot, well-priced

I live in Los Angeles but stopped at this location when I was in the area to use their pistol range, since it was the only one I could find in north SB county. I only used the pistol range so I can't comment on the outdoor area, but I was really satisfied with the experience.

It costs $10 for non-members to use a lane, which is about half the rate I'd pay in my area. Each lane goes up to 25 yards, and has markings at several yard increments (seems obvious, but I've seen ranges that don't have this).

They have targets for sale that are VERY reasonably-priced; I purchased several splatterburst 18"x24" targets for $2 each, which is even cheaper than buying them in bulk online.

Bottom line: if you're in the area and are looking for an inexpensive pistol range, definitely go here.

I have been going here over 2 years now and they are extremely inconsistant with their hours posted and i have honestly lost track of how many times i showed up, when online it say open, but the door is closed and locked. fix your online info! Then with consistency shown, i may decide to become a member but until then... never. (b sure 2 save yourself some gas and call ahead)

Friendly, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Protective eye and ear wear available for use. Targets and ammo reasonably priced for sale. My only complaint is hours of operation posted online are incorrect.

My first experience at Santa Maria Gun Club was one to remember. Dave was extremely helpful as he took time to explain the how-to's for a first time firearm owner. At the pistol range, the instructor was friendly, informative and added the cherry on top to the day. I will defiantly come back to try the trap range and pistol range once I purchase my handgun.

I have received training from The Gun School for a number of years. Professionally speaking, there is none better in the area. The staff is professional and knowledgeable in the handling of firearms. I have always received far more for my money's worth than I've paid. I highly recommend The Gun School for firearms training on any level.
