We tried this place when we were visiting Point Reyes. Small menu so you know the food is good, which it definitely was. We tried all the oysters and they were all very good. It would have been nice if the bread was complimentary for dipping in the oyster sauces. Nothing really for kids except their half chicken dish which we ordered — it was good.

But beware, it’s cash or Venmo only! For what seems to me like a “higher end” restaurant, we were surprised when we were told this after trying to pay with credit card. What if we didn’t have cash on us, which we normally don’t but luckily we did that night. And what about guests who don’t have Venmo, as I’m sure not everyone does. A heads up about their payment options would have been nice when we were seated. Knocked off one star for this reason. Food was good nonetheless…and so glad we had cash on us that night!

Amazing gem perfect for our return from a day exploring Pt. Reyes. The bread, squash soup, and freshly shucked oysters (with a proper mignonette) were all amazing, as was our service. We made sure to bring enough cash on our trip, which worked out as they are cash/venmo only. Can't wait to come back for the full menu.

Best oysters I've had.
This holds true for both the raw and cooked ones.
We tried two of their side dishes, and both were excellent. We loved the very limited menu, always a good sign of a place who does a few things very well. In addition the staff is among the friendliest we've ever seen.
Highly recommended!

I checked the calendar before coming here. We were happy to see that they were serving a Monday lunch. The space is cheery and appears to flow into another “business” from a previous era. The service was friendly, attentive and generous. The petite menu was thoughtful —variety and seasonal, and everything came out fresh (raw oysters, salad ) or perfect temperature (broiled oysters, soup). The flavors were great! Would love to come again when they are open-open and taking reservations.

From the moment we walked in the door we felt welcomed and taken care of. Locally sourced and relevant dishes could be found across the menu, giving a great sense of this area to our crew, many of whom were being introduced to West Marin for the first time. All of the food was delicious and clearly prepared with great skill and attention. All in all, a great memorable meal and evening!

We found this outstanding restaurant by accident: it was the only restaurant in walking distance from the hotel we stayed in. What an amazing surprise! Very nice atmosphere, outstanding service and some of the best food I ever had: I thought that I don't like raw Oysters - my girlfriend made me taste theme here - and I was blown away! The rest of the food (Salad, Swede Soup, Steak, Carrot Cake) was also outstanding. Great wine list! Very reasonable prices for the food/wine offered.
We will be back to Inverness - just to eat at the Saltwater Oyster Depot again!

Oh man, that lemon butter 🍋🦪 🧈 amazing on the fresh-caught oysters. I highly recommend getting at least 3 for yourself, or a dozen. Fish sandwich was really fresh, came on an amazing bun, but was under seasoned and dry with all the bread. Add some sauce and an acid element and it’ll be a home run. The service and oysters were incredible so it’s still a 5 star place. Great beverage selection too. If you’re in the area, definitely check it out.

This place is spectacular and I would highly recommend it. Love how clean and fresh everything is, our waitress was very attentive and friendly, and the food was delicious. I would recommend getting an order of bread to start. It is definitely homemade and yummy. You are able to order 3 different types of oysters individually instead of ordering a dozen of them which makes it more affordable. The salmon and steak were very tasty.
