I am beyond grateful for this school. John Ruskin really cultivated a sense of community, compassion and truly gave us a safe environment to explore and hone our crafts. I live over an hour away and looked forward to making the drive twice a week to see my people and really play. Mikey Myers was my classes teacher, and I am forever grateful for him! He was tough, and always called us out when we were making excuses, but also gave us the ability to feel safe and comfortable even in our vulnerability! Can’t recommend the school enough!

Incredible school, teaching the Meisner technique. John Ruskin studied and taught under the tutelage of Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse in NYC. He’s brought that special, important, significant gift to Santa Monica. He, along with the amazing teachers (shout out to Mike, Mikey, Melissa, Austin, and Paige, to name a few!), provide a safe, challenging, encouraging place to grow and connect with the craft of acting. I’ve developed more as an actor in the past two years being here, than the several years studying elsewhere. Many of the students say how this place changes your life — and I agree. It does.

John Ruskin and his entire team are a group of special people. Not only will they teach you craft, push you and give you confidence, they will change your life. You will not leave the program without having evolved and changed as an individual. John studied directly with Sandy Meisner and had a personal relationship with him. If you know anything about the Meisner technique, you should recognize how special that is - John Ruskin fell into teaching when Sandy had personally asked him to teach beneath him. In my opinion, Ruskin's school should recognized as the acting school of LA.
