Bleak, bare-bones Amtrak station platform in Richmond that needs a long-overdue upgrade. There’s no shade or protection from the elements. Bring your own water bottle.

The history, the creation of the community we want to live in is happening. Not without growing pains, and yet good marks an effort shows well for Richmond California and her residents! ?. Ty, BoomerNaut AKA Dan Goog Maps LG VII

Richmond Amtrak station is one of the key stations that link SF Sacramento and LA. This is a small station but easy to figure out where to go. The train schedule and # is posted on the bulletin board.

Bathrooms anywhere! If a 1hour trip actually takes an extra 3 hour wait… shouldn’t there be restrooms? Amtrak sucks

Transfered from bart to amtrack, entrance is not super clear. Its a small staircase inside station. (It's not the large stairs which lead to the street). Edited w. Pictures.

God help you if you need help. The bart employee was slow and rude. When I missed my bus because the gate didn't open, his response was "guess that wasn't your bus"

Really?

Why would someone be so rude other than they shouldn't be working in the public

It is dirty and scary as well.

I will be avoiding this stop in the future. They need to reevaluate their employees. A trained chimp can do what they do. Open a door and insult people and just be nasty. Thanks for the help.

Not the safest station- no security, not a good area, not a lot of foot traffic nearby, no separation between amtrak and bart. So you're alone at night, possibly with a crazy person from the bart line.

Not the most comfortable station- no heated areas, no totally indoor area, no escalator but there is an elevator, no food vending in station, cold steel seats albeit most are covered.

Its not the worst, but ive seen podunk towns in the middle of nowhere with more amenities. Considering this is a transfer point to the bart, i expected bart and amtrak funding to combine for a much better station.

This is a portal to two distinctly different worlds. At one end you have the now abandoned BART parking lot and are three other end a brand new gentrified housing development. The contrast is not easy on the brain
