I'm posting this again because my old review got taken down.

I am a person who is on the Autism spectrum, along with sometimes severe anxiety, and ADHD, I was around 15 or 16 when I rode here. I was under the weight limit these two rude people said, which was under 230 lbs. I'm overweight now of course due to my disabilities and eating habits that I've tried to stop. Anyways. When Judy told me to lose weight, She told my parents to lose weight as well. which if you ask me is very rude and disrespectful. But I also wanted to leave an update on my equestrian life. I am now a horseback rider for 3 years at another farm, the instructor at this new farm has accepted me for my weight issues and disabilities. I've ridden all the horses at this farm and all the horses were the same age as the one at Northern Maine Riding Adventures. All the horses carried me perfectly fine. So to those who told me that I need to be under 230 lbs. You're wrong. Horses used to carry more than that on their backs. If you ask me... I'm PERFECTLY CAPABLE of equestrian riding just like any thinner person is. My dream has already come true. This dream was to connect with a horse in a true bond between human and animal. If Judy had given me a chance. I would've been an excellent student. But instead she had me muck out stalls and clean everything while others got to ride. The only thanks she gets from me is that I found somebody better whom understands my struggles.

To McKenna Smith, the other person who wrote a review, if you are too heavy for a certain horse, you could start bending or destroying their spines. Horses don't have collar bones, and you could permanently hurt them. There are certain horses that might be able to support your weight. I would look into some draft horses if you want your dream to come true. Please don't say the riding instructor is bullying you or being judgemental, they're just trying to make sure the horses don't get hurt. I'm sure you wouldn't want to be hurting the horses. 🙂

For the person complaining about their weight- if you are to heavy, you shouldn't be riding.

It is not fair to the horse to carry someone that is overweight. Most trial ride places do
not let anyone over 230 lbs on a horse.

It is to much on their backs, so the instructor was right to tell you to lose weight.
