Matan and his team are irresponsible, disrespectful, unprofessional, and dangerous. I paid five thousand dollars to board and train my two year old German shepherd for four weeks. He had already received in depth marker training that started at seven weeks old, and was well versed in basic obedience. Our discussion prior to trusting my dog with Matan, was to work specifically on his reactions to other people entering my home and him jumping on them, as well as off leash and e-collar training. I was told I would get bi-weekly check ins with pictures and updates about what my dog was working on and how he was progressing. By the third week, I had received a total of two check ins instead of the six that should have occurred by then, and the only things reported in the updates were in regard to basic obedience and commands my dog already understood when I dropped him off. Furthermore, the office manager was walking my dog an a flat collar, after specific instruction had been given to only walk him with a prong collar because he pulls while on a leash. When a dog that pulls is walked on a flat collar, it compresses their airway. This caused him to cough and they were concerned he developed kennel cough. They took him to their vet, who said he did not have Kennel cough, however the next day they called me back and made me pick him up. I then took him to my vet, where he was evaluated and found to have lost ten pounds in the three weeks he was boarded with Matan. He also tried to bite my vet, who knows him well, and he has never shown aggression like this in the past anyone. My vet also confirmed he did not have kennel cough. In discussions with Matan after this, he assured me he would make things right, and then avoided my calls, refused to message me, and would not issue a refund as he had discussed. Thankfully my dog has made a complete recovery, and has returned to his normal weight and gentle demeanor.

Life savers! My hubby and I are novices and needed a lot of help with our pup Finley. He is a sweetheart but was overly excitable around other people and animals. He also didn't know a lot of the basic obedience commands. We did a consultation with Matan and they recommended a two week board and train. That was the best investment we have ever made. The difference was night and day. He went from a dog that would lunge away when on leash to staying put off leash at Michael's (yes the craft store). Matan sent me the video to prove it! They are consummate professionals and are so nice! We didn't finish our puppy head-start program with LA School for Dogs because the owner would talk down to us. Matan is the complete opposite! We are forever grateful to Matan and will continue working with them.

Choosing Matan to train our german shepherd puppy was the best decision we could have made. He spent 2 weeks for obedience and socialization training and he came home a different dog. Amelia is wonderful and I’m so grateful for her and the entire staff! We brought our young Jack Russel (Hank) for training when he had started showing signs of resource guarding. Everyone there made me feel confident that he would be loved and well taken care of for board and train. He spent 3 weeks there and they helped so much with not only the resource guarding but also basic commands and explaining how to continue at home. Matan checked in on our weekly visits and we also got almost daily videos and photos. They trained him and us in a loving way that will have a huge impact on Hanks happiness.

BEST IN THE BUSINESS!

I spent a solid month researching and connecting with different trainers and couldn't be happier with Matan Dog Training! My pup came from a shelter where he was euth-listed for being aggressive. A rescue pulled him from the shelter after interacting with him and seeing he was mainly anxious/scared/high energy.

Around the time I took him to Matan Dog Training, walks were impossible - he would bark/lunge at people, try to chase down bikes/motorcycles, show teeth especially at kids, and literally drag me down the street. I couldn't have anyone over to my house and I gave up on dog walkers who complained about how difficult he was outside the home.

Jump to now (a month out of a 3 week board and train) - I can take him ANYWHERE. He focuses on me, follows commands, and doesn't enter/exit a door without a command. He still gets excited around other dogs and people, but has learned to control his energy and look to me for commands to interact. My friends and family can't believe this is the same dog!!

The entire staff at Matan's is TOP notch! Matan was honest with me during the consultation and explained why my dog would need 3 weeks in training. Each week, when I attended a private training session, I saw the progress he initially outlined for me and he was spot on! Most importantly, the methods he uses are all positive and focus on redirecting the dog's focus to the owner. So many other trainers use shock collars/punishment/pain and I was not on board with that AT ALL.

Matan's office staff was super responsive. Spencer kept me updated almost daily with my dog's progress. He answered all of my questions (even on weekends/odd hours) and was super accommodating of my work schedule when scheduling 1:1 training sessions.

Rafael (my dog's primary trainer) was AWESOME! He really loves dogs and treated my dog like his own. He made the training principles easy to understand and explained to me what behaviors to anticipate when I transition my dog home and how to correct them. And most impressive, he picked up on the subtle changes I needed to make (like tone of voice, where to stand, etc) that broke the bad habits I created in the past and made my dog follow me.

Seriously worth EVERY penny!!

We had an amazing experience with Matan and the staff. Our boy Kobe is year old cane corco rescued from the shelter, didn’t know how to walk outside and had a hard time communicate with other dogs and people. We decided to take the two week training camp and they did amazing with him. I must say we had concerns and doubts but Matan and his staff made us feel very comfortable with the decision and that he’s in good hands. The dog came back happy and totally obeys orders.
Even after the two weeks was over they are still part of the process and there for every questions we have.
Very professional team and place you can definitely tell they love dogs and their job. I’m highly recommend to check it out!
