I am studying Northern Style Praying Mantis with Master Yun and the training is excellent and deeply rooted in Chinese tradition. Master Yun is an extremely disciplined and skilled martial artist who continues his own training daily, and it shows. I like his no nonsense approach to training with a strong emphasis on fundamentals, fighting strategy, and real world application. Master Yun is very patient and welcoming of everyone, and is great with kids as well. My teen brother is also his student. It makes me happy to see my brother learning something which is rooted in tradition and requires slow, dedicated work to improve at.

Master Yun teaches respect for the art and leads by example. His Kung Fu is exceptional, and whenever I have a question about a specific technique he always takes the time to demonstrate the real world application in a very tangible way. I am consistently surprised at his skill and strength. His style looks beautiful while also being highly effective. Master Yun also teaches internal martial arts such as Tai Chi. I appreciate that Master Yun was able to continue teaching through the pandemic by holding classes outside. I recommend this school very much.

Meeting Master Yun revealed an innate level of martial arts mastery I had never witnessed before - having studied martial arts for nearly four decades. His focus is to teach dedicated students a relaxed, true integration of the whole body, producing startling power that is not based on muscle. He does this drawing fluently from multiple major Chinese styles, many of which are hard to find in the United States, and certainly not with his expertise and direct lineage.

Master Yun teaches all skill levels from the young to the old. Your lessons will be replete with martial arts history lessons, practical skills as well as traditional form practice. Master Yun is an expert on a multitude of weapons and martial arts styles. The martial arts universe is unlimited at Master Yun's studio. The price is competitive as well! I highly recommend.

Master Yun is an amazing teacher that teaches practical forms of this amazing martial arts. Be prepared to work hard and grow. I have seen massive improvement in my technique over a short period of time. Additionally, all of the other students and instructors are amazing to work with and they will work with you to make sure you are the best you can be. 7/5 stars 😉
