Really lovely, albeit small, lighthouse overlooking the ocean. The walkway over the water was closed when we visited (August 2024) due to damage sustained during the recent coastal storms. The museum/gift shop was cute - much bigger than expected and the guy working was so sweet. We loved the history and our son loved the stuffed Puffins in the shop. They have a framed copy of the letter Paramount Pictures sent them after filming a scene from Forrest Gump there. If you're a fan of the movie it is very cool to see.

I've been trying to visit for quite some time and finally made it over Labor Day. The lighthouse was closed off due to some prior storm damage, but it was still a beautiful landmark. The grounds are immaculate. The Lighthouse store/museum was open and the staff were extremely knowledgeable and super friendly.

Beautiful, historical place. If you did not know already, this is the Lighthouse that is briefly seen in the movie Forest Gump. It's the point where Forest runs as far East as he can, then turns around and runs West. They have some great "behind the scenes" photos of the filming. Good little gift shop / museum detailing the history of the Lighthouse and that area of Maine. It is definitely worth a visit if you are in the area.

Absolutely beautiful view! Most definitely worth the drive too see this lighthouse, museum and gift shop. The museum and gift shop are small but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

This was a very beautiful destination while on vacation in Maine. It offers a very beautiful view from the coast, as well as being an iconic americam film lighthouse. It was featured in the movie Forest Gump.

Marshall Point Lighthouse is easy to get to and was peaceful and worth the trip.

It is filled with history and staffed by dedicated people. They care about the lighthouse and giving back to their community. There is so much to learn and the beauty of the area is well maintained.

There is onsite parking, a gift shop, and small museum. There are also portable toilets available.

Yes, this is the one from Forest Gump! But don’t expect to walk down the pathway to the lighthouse. It needs some serious renovations. (2024).
