I don’t do a lot of shopping in person. After a year of playing volleyball it was time for me to buy basketball shoes since they can be used for volleyball.

Employees were friendly and I appreciate someone welcoming me as soon as I walked in. I was there for about two hours and I tried around 11 different shoes. Compared to the other local stores I went to, I felt that I could really take my time and feel out shoes to be confident in what I wanted.

Katy specifically was very helpful and kept recommending shoes until I found the right pair.

Came to Dick’s today to get a wood bat for my kid. Drove all the way here specifically for that purpose. It’s fall ball baseball season and out of the hundreds of bats available, they had literally ONE 30” bat in their entire inventory and it had a big scratch down the side of it. 29” and 30” bats are by far the most common size for youth baseball, and to carry only one damaged bat in that size is ridiculous. This is exactly why people just shop online and these types of places eventually disappear. Just stock the most common size bats… It’s not that difficult.

I have done a lot of business at this location in Santa Maria and never had an issue. Everyone is friendly but after today and what they tried to pull I may have to question the integrity of this company. My wife purchased a brand new golf club and it was the wrong one. It was never used, had the wrapper on it and all stickers. Mind u it was purchased just a day ago and I went to return.l it the next day. I was told they could not take a return and do a refund and that I would have to trade it in. What!!!! Their own website says they will allow returns of golf clubs up to 30 days and that’s if they r slightly used. This was BRAND NEW. Anyways come to find out the associate said it’s managers discretion as to what they want to do and since the brand was not a good seller they didn’t really want the club at their store. Makes zero sense to me. It wasn’t until my frustration was showing that they decided to do a refund. Sounds shady to me and if I didn’t ask questions I’m sure they would have low balled me on a trade in lol. Be very wary of the return policy here and people just making things up.

Nice big new store located off off of Betteravia and the 101 in SM. great location and the store is very large so they have lots of inventory and it’s very well managed and maintained. I also was asked by more than one associate when I went in if I needed any help which is a rarity these days. They didn’t have what I needed so I left further quickly, but I highly recommend this to folks looking for anything sports / athletic clothes or gear.

What sporting store doesn't even have a dome tent, Dick's in Santa Maria. Plus everything in there is over priced.

They have a decent selection of goods, but have a tendency to run out of bigger equipment. At least the few times I've gone looking for that sort of thing. They've been out of everything I've wanted. They manage to keep the weights in stock pretty well and there's always workout gear available. The staff is pretty friendly and they keep the store nice and clean.
