I recommend David Kagen's School of Film Acting to all my fellow actors.

It is a Master Class without having to go through the introductory curriculum other acting schools require, which I discovered when auditing the master classes of other programs. The personal attention I received is equivalent to a private lesson because the classes were small (4-8 students).

The notes were direct and long lasting because every session is recorded on DVD in split screen format. This allows me to see what the teachers are seeing and to see how I'm reacting to my scene partner's reactions. "Acting is reacting."

The teachers' varied styles were able to give multifaceted insight into what was blocking me from bringing my true self to the scene.

I look forward to working with David again. His school is a hidden gem in the clutter of Hollywood acting schools.

I look forward to the classes every week. The instructors genuinely love and respect the craft of acting and are excellent at pushing me to do my best work. Each session provides me with a DVD showing me and my scene partner on camera. Being able to review the performance and the teacher's comments makes a huge difference in my understanding of the bad habits I have developed over the years ("acting") as well as those times when I am genuine, honest and interesting. I cannot be more thankful to be enrolled here.
