The museum is only open to the public on Thursdays and possibly Mondays. there are quite a few young reservists touring the museum I got the impression it's really the purpose was for their education not so much for the public.
Inside the Annex Building or a number of mannequin dressed in uniforms and displays of weapons from all the various Wars and campaign since World War II outside in the parking area was the heavy equipment A fairly comprehensive collection of Tanks and motorized artillery what's an armored personnel carriers and a couple of helicopters.

Concerning billeting I give this place five stars!! This is a gem of a find! I was able to rent a three bedroom house for only $72 . It had a full kitchen with everything you would need. If you are looking for cheap, big and clean then you found your place.

Update on my stay in Village 4013 in Oct 2023. Usually I am not picky, but there were quite a few bugs (not bed bugs) to contend with, floors that creaked so loud you worried about falling through and general cleanliness of the bathroom went down a lot since last visit. Staying on base is a bit of adventure, but when the price is not that much cheaper than a nicer hotel, why. This is fine if you have duty here, but as a paying Veteran, you can and should do better. The picture of the bathroom says it all. If you have a 214, treat yourself better.

The toilet paper was so thin you could read a book through it and the soap was a rock and smelled like detergent, finally, bring sheets, pillows and blankets if you plan to use the sofa bed.

Our purpose was to visit Pinnacles National Park. Their RV campsites were sold out. This was a great alternative with full hookups. Be sure to have all food, water, and any other items that you want with you as there are no convenience stores close by. Also, the area does get frostbite late at night and early mornings.
As a nature loving family we really enjoyed the fall colors and natural surroundings. Saw lots of elk nearby. Rode bikes around with a bike trailer in tow. Beautiful sunrises & sunsets!

In the month that I've spent here (at the tax payers expense). We (total of 5 rooms) had no hot water for 2.5 days, there is no wi-fi as advertised and as it gets cold there is no heat in the rooms which may be the most irritating part. Waking up to go to work to a room colder than 65 degrees is absolutely unacceptable. I would recommend that you find a place in Paso Robles, about a 15 minute drive and you probably won't have to share a bathroom with a stranger either.

Was 11b at ft rod went down for training a few times in 1980,83. Lots of walking, full rucksacks cold at night blistering hot in the day. 💪🪖

I have been at this Base for the last 17 years. Love it! before our deployment at 2008, I trained here for 2 1/2 months. Love to get a bike from MWR to move around during Annual training. They have better barracks. the Lodging is nice but some room don't have coffee... sorry I am a coffee lover :). Love to hike by the water tank. What a memories!
Please conserve wild life. it is so abundant! Go Army!

As light fighters from Ft. Ord, we honed our skills here. We would go weeks without being in the sun (train at night, sleep during the day) then ruck back to Ord. A lot of our training was later adopted by the Army Rangers.

We are fortunate to utilize this base for our Cal YMCA Youth and Government programs. The personnel is always friendly while maintaining military professionalism and the kids don't feel intimidated while they are there. Beautiful location as well.
