I am a student here at CALSMA and I can say you learn a lot here. CALSMA Taekwondo teaches it is Champions in the game and Champions in life. The curriculum always makes you wanna do better! I also made a ton of new friends here. As you climb up the belts you are taught how to be a leader and help lower level belts on techniques. I help when needed but I am more on the lower side of belts so I need to become a higher to help! Helping is fun because you give advise and help others who need help. CALSMA also makes you set a goal or something you want to achieve. My goal is to one day hopefully join Demo Team. Things like this always keeps pushing you to keep trying which is important in outside life. I have learned many physical feats like becoming stronger and flexible. I have also learned those in Mental feats. Overall CALSMA teaches you to become stronger physical and mentally. This changes lives. I highly recommend it to anyone that is bored in life and wanting to do something fun!

This place is amazing! As a student, I can say that the master here is really good with his students, being able to find out their strengths and weaknesses well. You can learn a lot here, and the curriculum always keeps you on your toes.

Of course, I cannot talk about CALSMA without mentioning the community. Everyone is super welcoming and friendly; the students are so nice and very amiable, and the parents are really helpful and supportive of everyone.

I love this place so much, it has actually changed my life. I’ve made so many friends on and off the mats, and I hope that one day maybe you will do the same. 🙂

Master Jun and his wife Sunshine, along with the entire Calsma community has been one of the best things to happen for our son over the last 16 months. I cannot recommend them enough. Our kiddo has gained strength and confidence and is on the path to understanding personal accountability both on and off the mat. At school, he's been recognized for his leadership abilities, and at home he's taken a more active role with supporting his sibling. If you're on the fence, hop over and give it a shot! The lifelong skills are invaluable, and the mental and physical training is nothing less than world-class. Absolutely LOVE and APPRECIATE the sacrifice and contribution Calsma has made for us personally, and our little community up on the hill. CALSMA is the evolution of More Than Medals Taekwondo. The school is run by Master Jun who has trained numerous students to be skilled and respectful martial artists with the right mindset. Some of these students have won state and national championships. The school teaches that medals are great, but what really matters is the training process, determination and the indomitable spirit of the athletes.

CALSMA is the perfect gym for anyone to start their martial arts journey. Students' ages range from 4-50+. Master Jun and his instructors are patient and friendly. It's amazing how the master can command a room full of kids (and adults).

The curriculum includes forms, kicking techniques and sparring. Nobody is forced to join tournaments, but it is encouraged.

There is also a demonstration team that competes and performs at events. This specialized group is focused on teamwork and leadership. They execute acrobatics, choreographed fight sequences, advanced board breaks and synchronized forms. This group of kids is super fun to watch. They are also 3 time defending champs.

My family has been training with Master Jun for about 7 years and it's still as enjoyable as the first day.

This is a great Taekwando gym. All 3 of my kids practice Taekwando at this gym. Master Jun is not just a world-class athlete himself(used to compete professionally and internationally for his own country), but more importantly he is an excellent teacher. He helps his students develop physical martial art skills and mental strength in a fun and safe way.
