Blain Cort's Total Self Defense

Sensei Cort is an amazing teacher, great with children, adults, and more seasoned adults. I started at when I was 50. Our family has been training with Sensei Cort for a while. Started with my wife's cousin, then my son, then me, my daughter, and finally my wife. This picture is from a tournament in May. First tournament for three of us. We are not the only family with multiple members who train here. It's truly a family dojo. I see young people, who are advanced students, who are respectful, confident yet humble, and developing into great adults. Give this school a try. You will not regret it. Joe

Sensei Cort is a very skilled and effective teacher. He makes learning fun and has fostered a welcoming environment for his students. It was easy to walk in and feel like you were part of the group from day one.

I've attended a few classes as the guest of one of his students who is a friend of mine. The way he teaches is very friendly and patient, making sure each student understands proper form and the reason behind it. You can tell he strives to build a relationship with each of his students, and is more than happy to answer any questions that might arise during the class. He is very encouraging and understands that everyone has limits to how their bodies can move. Weapons training was immense fun, with an emphasis on personal safety in a self defense situation. If you are looking for martial arts training with an emphasis on defense, or simply want a fun, friendly atmosphere for low weight physical conditioning, you should stop by and check out this dojo.

Such an amazing teacher of martial arts. Patient, thorough and wise. I miss my daily lessons and the health benefits therein. I highly recommend this school for anybody who is interested in studying martial arts or who has kids who are interested. Heck, if you bring your kids to the school you should join as well, its always good to learn self defense no matter the age or physical ability.

This is a fantastic dojo with very friendly, welcoming people. All the instructors are extremely knowledgeable, patient, and professional. I have grown a lot as an individual and been pushed to achieve my goals on and off the mat while training here!

Sendai Cort is an awesome guy! So nice and patient with old guys like me! I've gotten twice as flexible taking this class and I've achieved an inner peace that's quite amazing! This class has really brightened up my life! Like Blain says, "The hardest part is walking in"!

Sensei Cort is an excellent instructor! He works so well with so many different age groups. Sensei Cort is also very knowledgeable about a variety of weapons he can train someone to handle. For example, I wanted to know more about metal fighting fans and Sensei Cort helped me choreograph a beautiful kata. In addition to teaching Wu Ying Tao, a form of Kung fu, he also teaches Modern Arnis, a Filipino martial art. He has made our experience very enjoyable. He also throws terrific children's birthday parties at his school complete with ninja games and loads of fun!!

Brought our son here to learn and he has far surpassed our expectations Blain and his team have taught him so much and he has built confidence and feels like he is in a better place. They are such an amazing group and it's more of a family community feeling than anything. We couldn't ask for a better place.
