I took the Intro to Plant ID course with Emily shortly after I moved to the area from NY. I was hoping it would help me get used to my new surroundings and allow me to make some new friends along the way. Both of those hopes were fulfilled and so much more. I can now identify over 50 plants in the area. It feels so empowering to know the names of the plant partners around me, and to better understand the geographical history of the land upon which I reside. I loved the course so much I decided to sign up for the larger apprenticeship program offered by Artemisia Academy and look forward to many more classes to come.

I finished the intro to plant id course and all I can say it was truly a amazing experience. My favorite is learning about plant families because when you can ID key characteristics you can assume for the most part what type of medicinal proprieties they can provide. for instance the mint family consists of many different herbs including lemon balm and my favorite holy basil. These herbs can be used as a mild calming agent in teas, not to mention the smells can help provide relaxation and stress relief!

I recently took the Herbs for the Body course with Artemisia Academy. This is the 3rd class I have taken at the school. Each class builds on one another as part of the larger Herbal Apprentice program, of which I am also a student. So far I am LOVING the program! The hybrid format of the class fits perfectly into my life. I'm having such a great time meeting like-minded herbal nerds like myself and am even forming friendships with them outside of the virtual classroom. I cannot say enough good things about this particular class. I have learned SO MUCH about different body systems, identifying herbs, herb flavor profiles, their properties, and how they can be used. I feel like I can better help my friends, family, and myself incorporate more herbs into our lives with all of this knowledge. Plants are POWERFUL, and I'm so grateful to have lifetime access to the class information and notes.
