This place is great for all sorts of craft supplies at good prices. I was looking at linen fabric at the quilting shop on the same block and glad I didn’t buy any there. This place had so many colors of linen fabric in cuts from 2.5-1yards. All averaging about $6 a yard. Which for linen fabric is amazing. I also got some felted wool for $8. And some wool yarn for $6 and houndstooth wool fabric 2 yards for $10. I also got some trim and buttons are cheap. So much to look through and enjoy. I’m from out of town and I wish my city had a store like this!

I am really poor plus disabled without a car!! Imagine my surprise when I got myself headed for the store clunking along sprained leg & back with a walker. I’d always seen Art From Scrap but I had a notion it was all about staging and creating for Solstice. It happened to be the very first day that they had been open following Covid. I filled my bucket a few times In Those early months. I fit in a visit every week.
But I sure have a request: often the store does not accept donations because they are overstocked.
What if more of your prices were lower again causing much more product to go out the door and restock with fresh donations more often?
I’m sure fixed expenses, rent & insurance are beyond my knowledge. I grab at the super value things and check out with about $40. That’s some coin for me! Since donations are free I’d sure like to see it be more of a win- win situation where everyone gets a deal, and people donate frequently. I’m bummed the bucket bulk rate rarely applies.
But your staff is fabulous to be sure! And the store is organized well. The installations of shelves and drawers are repurposed and I admire the heck out of that too.
Guess it’s been long since I could afford retail but I find buttons and sewing notions to be a bit costly.
I simply don’t enjoy myself like I used to.

It was a nice place to pick up scrap for a project that I wanted to work on. The store is a little small but it's pretty well organized. The owner working as well was pleasant to talk to.

Absolutely love this place! This terrific business filled with wonderful workers is truly a blessing for artists and craft makers alike. There will always be something you've never seen before and boxes of stuff that return customers come to love. There is an art gallery upstairs that is usable for events as well. They also have really fun terrific classes for children of all ages. This is a great place to get weird stuff or hot glue projects for the kids

This place reminds me of a spot back in Pittsburgh called the Center for Creative Re-use. If you're the artsy source, and open to fun new projects, it's worth a look.

I found a nice cigar box with a black velvet interior that I did my very first (oh, so cheesy) velvet painting on. There are canvases, ceramics, fabric, pens, half used paints, wooden panels. You could probably build a house out of the things they have, if you were particularly creative, and building code wasn't too rigidly enforced.

I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Go check it out before going to the over-priced art store. You never know what you might find.
