Best SCUBA course in Santa Cruz! They have a great facility stocked with the best gear and the friendliest people. Our instructor Dominic was awesome. We used great gear--super warm wetsuits, nice regulators, and excellent BCDs. Just finished diving in Monterey this weekend, and got my diver certification in one short, fun, week. Highly recommend!

Very nice place for kid swimming lessons. The teachers are very caring and professional, the owners/managers are doing very well organizing things and being very accommodating. During cold months they heat up the pool to 90+ and they run the classes rain or shine!

Been diving since I was a kid, but took a break and never wanted to dive our local cold waters (been doing tropical dives on and off), but decided to get certified locally and really like that ASU took us to one of (if not the best) place to dive and use kayak too. This really showed me how awesome local diving can be! Steve is the best instructor I've had, and made the many hour classes really enjoyable (even though I knew the drill). The entire crew is young and dynamic and fun to hang around and dive with, which I've done many times. The owner Dennis is a colorful and very interesting character. Love the shop and took more advanced classes there afterward.

Just back from an awesome dive trip organized by these guys to the Southern Channel Islands on the Vision. Ryan and Emily are the best! The most fun was had. Dolphins! Whales! Tuna! Bat Ray! Sea Bass! Nudibranch! So many sea critters. I'm not sure this trip can be topped. Maybe next time we'll encounter the Kraken. 🙂

We have tried Jim Booth and Simkins but Adventure Sports is the one that actually taught my sons to swim. I have two very different boys and the teachers accommodated and accepted both in the style each needed. They are so friendly and try to adapt to our schedule. We are definitely a ASU fan and family!

Dario is the most amazing swim teacher ever! This review is long overdue. Dario is patient, kind, playful, yet, focused during all of the lessons. Our kids have progressed very fast with his guidance. Thank you Dario!

Our 3 year old was really excited to take his second round of swim lessons. His first was at Sea Horse and they were great. Unfortunately, they weren't available during the hours we needed so we hit up a google search.

Adventure Sports was one of the top hits so I thought it must be decent. Long story short, we signed up for a monday/wednesday class without knowing the times because THEY themselves weren't certain on when they'd be held. I was reluctant to commit but did. They told me I'd be notified the wednesday prior to the monday class via email with the scheduled time of the class. I wasn't. I called them at 5:30 the wednesday prior to class and was told that they weren't able to schedule our child. I told "Steve" that I would have appreciated a notification because our child was REALLY looking forward to his scheduled swim lessons and he said he was sorry. The thing is...they should have told us earlier so we could schedule classes with another school. They were SUPER inconsiderate of us and waited beyond the last minute. Additionally, they also charged us for lessons they weren't planning on giving?

CONCLUSION: We will never attempt to receive services from this agency again.
RECOMMENDATION: Don't try them unless your child can tolerate a disappointment.

Great dive shop. Dennis and Steve have opened our eyes to the world of diving, and in particular the world class diving in our own back yard. Great instruction, rentals, and dive trips.
