Our experience with Advantage Testing of Los Angeles was phenomenal from beginning to end. When we started working with them in the late spring of my child's sophomore year, Advantage looked at both practice SAT and ACT scores to determine which would be a stronger fit; we met with Paul Siemens and he thoughtfully walked us through our options and the road he saw ahead for maximum success. Paul then paired my child with the best fit tutor and it was the most lovely experience. Advantage always worked with my child's schedule, the guidance and tutoring were beyond what I could have hoped for, and my child truly enjoyed the whole process! Because the plan was so sound and the tutoring was so strong, the standardized test is now behind us. It was a joy working with such a wonderful team.

No words to begin to describe how incredible Paul Siemens and the entire Advantage team is. My daughter began working with Paul in the fall, and by the summer had moved the dial significantly to end with a perfect 36 ACT score. Paul was able to improve her score without adding pressure, but by gently guiding her to see her own abilities. Paul personally curated each lesson to one that kept her engaged and moving forward. I was so struck by how entirely devoted Paul and his team are to the students they mentor - always checking in, making time, showing genuine enthusiasm after every single practice test and tutoring session. Believe me when I say that this is personal for them, and knowing how invested Advantage is made the experience a joyful one. My daughter actually lamented that the process was over because she actually enjoyed what she learned about the subjects, and herself, through it. The greatest gift in all of this is not the perfect score, but how Paul taught my daughter to get out of her own way and believe in herself, because he did. (But the perfect score wasn't bad either!) He also got her to understand math in a way that she had never been able to before, which remains a lasting boost to her confidence. So if you're looking for THE BEST test prep, the kindest, and the most personally invested, look no further. Paul is the absolute best there is!

All I can say is Garrett is an absolute superstar!!!!! Our daughter started studying for the ACT’s a little late in the game and he came in, saved the day and our daughter did amazing! He was patient and understanding but held her accountable. Plus he was a total joy to work with for her and to have around. I worked with Brandon at Advantage Testing for about 6 months. I cannot stress how amazing of a tutor he was. Through only those 6 months, he was able to improve my ACT score by 6 points, allowing me show off an outstanding score of 31 to great and even prestigious colleges. He went all out in making sure I clearly understood material through practice. His planning and communication was also spot-on, always making sure parents are always informed about progress and taking the necessary steps to improve the score.Not only was he able to provide all the tools necessary in achieving a great score, but he made the process fun and inspiring. Usually tutoring and testing are a drag for teens, but to a surprise, Brandon created an entertaining environment involving tutoring. My son started working with Garrett as a sophomore in high school for help in English. While math and science came much more naturally to him, English (and writing in particular) was his most difficult subject. He struggled to put words to paper. Garrett really helped him formulate ideas and an outline so he could start expressing himself in words. Garrett was able to assist him throughout his high school English courses whenever he got "stuck," including an AP English class in his junior year, where he ended up scoring a 4 on the AP Exam.

He continued to work with my son in preparing for the SAT, with a focus on the verbal section, as well as college essays. While he scored an 800 on the SAT math section, Garrett helped him boost his verbal score significantly so that he ended up with a 700! The college essay process can be daunting, especially for someone who is not a natural writer. Garrett was able to help my son reach back into his past and come up with ideas that would make his essays authentic to him. He was then able to guide him to get those ideas on paper in a cohesive and concise way that would appeal to college admissions reviewers. We are happy to report that my son was accepted into some top-notch engineering programs.

As others have posted here, Garrett truly cares for his students and wants to see them prosper. He is great at following up and communicating with parents. He understands that every student has a unique personality and way of approaching things. My wife and I are truly grateful for Garrett's guidance in helping our son become a better writer and his overall support in the whole college application process!

A friend recommended I reach out to Advantage and have them tutor me for the GMAT. I couldn't be happier that I chose Advantage's very own Dave Matos. Not only did we get along personally, his communication skills, teaching ability, and patience are bar none. My test results increased dramatically by working with him - he is simply the best tutor and teacher I have ever come across. With his help, I achieved a 97th percentile GMAT score (way above my original goal). If you're looking for a tutor, go with Advantage, and go with Dave!

I first spoke to Paul Siemens at Advantage Testing about working with our son. What impressed me most about Paul was that he told us that he didn't think that our son necessarily needed to take the ACT or SAT. I liked his low pressure, non salesman approach and thought that the things he said really made sense. We still ended up using Advantage and felt our son benefited from working with his tutor. Through the process, he gained a degree of confidence, which has helped him greatly.

When it became time for our daughter to prepare for college testing, Paul thought she would work well with Caroline Giuliani. Caroline has given her wonderful instruction & has helped mentor her and guide all of us through the test taking process. With Caroline's efforts, our daughter was able to obtain a score of 34 on her very first ACT test.

Not only are Advantage instructors smart, but they are also thoughtful & extremely professional. We feel so fortunate to have discovered this wonderful company and could not be happier.
