I highly recommend checking this school out or attending an Intro to Welding Workshop Day. I’ve worked so hard to improve my skills during my time here and have successfully come out of here with multiple certifications. The basic skills I learned here allowed me to learn even more and grow professionally. The instructors here are experts, knowledgeable and are there to help beginner welders find traction. Keep an open mind and make sure to pay attention to what they tell you; there will be days where the instructors go hard on you and you will need to show your workmanship and maturity.

Positives:
-I was taught extremely valuable basic welding skills here
-The instructors here give excellent suggestions on machine settings, welding fit up and weld test advice
-The ideal-condition booth setups and machines provided here allow beginners to be comfortable and give them a glimpse of what they may see at real-world job sites or at a company shop
-The attention to safety is heavily stressed at this school
-You meet multiple people (some with similar mindsets)

Neutral:
-You are here to weld here all day on material to simulate a weld test
-The basic welding skills learned here are applicable to any job or serve as the basis for your welding (depending on the company you are hired for, you will weld to their standards)
-Small school; instructors are easy to find whenever you have questions

Negatives:
-Little to no real-world welding scenarios where material conditions or fit up aren’t ideal (just to temper expectations)
-No scenarios to fabricate parts (for us who welded sheet metal, a small basic box would have been nice)

Had previously taken the CWI part B a few times and wasn't quite getting over the hump so I decided to give Advaced Weldtec a try for my training hrs and it was great. Lots of questions were answered and things clarified. I liked the seminar so much I decided to get a private train session to shore up things I was still on the fence on as I didn't want to repeat the process and exam AGAIN. George is old school and extremely knowledgeable, Mariana is a killer highly skilled, both are tough but friendly. you can tell they're both very smart really know their stuff and take this very seriously. If you're on your journey to CWI I'd highly recommend the seminar in whole or part and privates if needed. Education well worth the investment. Oh yeah I passed my part B and now a CWI.

This school changed my life to say the least and George and Mariana are excellent! I took their aerospace course back in 2019! Those 6 months were some of the hardest, yet most rewarding months of my life. They push you to do your best and always make sure you know there is room for improvement! They help you find work if needed and opportunities to gain more certifications are always a priority. The way George and Mariana have taught me is something I will forever be grateful for and the way they continue to help me when needed is so amazing!

Going to this school was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. They teach you a lot more than just passing your welding test. How to use a torch, how to grind, how to fabricate fast and efficiently. All things you have to know in the pipe or steel erecting trades. They expect you to be consistent and punctual which is exactly what contractors expect in the field. 100% would go again

Attending California Welding Institute was such a different experience and brought me out of my comfort zone, but it was definitely worth it. The instructors, George and Mariana, have taught me everything that I know, and I am now a certified welder. I can tell you one thing, this school is NOT for the weak! They mean business when you walk in those gates and everything is very straight foward. They have so much knowledge and experience, I would not have gained what I know anywhere else. I appreciate everything they've done for me and continue to do for me even a year later. It's been about 4 and half years since I graduated from California Welding Institute, I took their aerospace program and it was the best decision I've made. George and Mariana were and are very knowledgeable in all aspects of welding. I wouldn't be the welder I am today without them! 10/10 would recommend to any level of welder.

The facility is always improving and I was able to get a higher paying job in welding because of the technical skills I learned here.
